Today, we remember, we celebrate, and we take action.

Rainbow Baby Day is a day to celebrate the babies who have brought light and hope into families’ lives after the loss of a baby, while also acknowledging that every family’s journey is different.

For our family, this journey will always be deeply personal.

In October 2018, our beautiful daughter, Kallipateira, died at 37 weeks of pregnancy.

Although she is not here with us in person, she will always be part of our family and everything we do.

In May 2020, our son Apollon was born at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Manchester.

Apollon is our rainbow baby. He brought enormous love and happiness into our lives, but his arrival never erased the devastation, pain and grief.

That is why Rainbow Baby Day means so much to our family and to The Kallipateira Moorhouse Foundation.

We want to remember every baby who is not here in person.

We want to acknowledge each individual family journey.

And we want to support research that can help reduce the number of preventable stillbirths.

Through our support of groundbreaking stillbirth research and the work of Professor Alex Heazell and his team in Manchester, we are determined to turn grief into action and help drive real change.

Apollon is here today because of the research carried out by Professor Heazell and his team.

The rainbow does not erase the storm.

But it can remind us that light can shine through.

For Kallipateira.

For Apollon.

For every baby who is not here in person.
